Partner was engaged by a private renewable energy investor and developer to perform Independent Engineering services, which included a Site Inspection and Punchlist Report, for a 2.7 MW ground-mounted solar installation on a former landfill in the Town of Dewitt, New York. The system utilizes 7,290 Risen Energy solar panels, 33 SunGrow inverters, and is mounted to a Gamechange Solar fixed-tilt poured-in-place-concrete ballasted racking system with a 30° tilt.
The PV system was completed in 2020 and is projected to save the town over $2 million over the life of the system while offsetting 2,605 metric tons of carbon dioxide. According to the Town of Dewitt’s sustainability page, the solar farm will also “supply all of the Town’s electricity for buildings, facilities, streetlights, and water and sewer pumps, thereby completely freeing the Town of DeWitt from using fossil fuels for electric consumption.
